I am getting a 10 week old female american eskimo dog. I need some good books on basic behavioral training, housebreaking, etc. I don’t want a method that uses treats as a means to train the dogs.
Also, how young should one start training a puppy?
My 6 month old puppy is toilet trained, however whenever we leave the house for longer periods of time he will wee and poo inside. He has a doggy door and a 2 year old dog compainion who goes outside but the puppy just wont.
He is a bulldog puppy and cannot stay outside due to high temperatures. He is confident in using his doggy door and will go outside unaided when we are home.

i just got a 9-10 week old puppy and i’m just wondering if i should crate train him and what the benefits are? as of right now he doesn’t like his crate and cries as soon as the door shuts. i’ve put his food and treats in there along with his bed to help him get used to it, but it doesn’t seem to be helping.
he’s a boxer/lab mix if that makes a difference.

She’s about nine months old now, and has a tendency to chew everything. The toys we buy her tend to last about five minutes. We adopted her so we don’t know what breed she is, but we think it’s partly rottweiler and part border collie, if that helps.
I bought a beautiful bulldog puppy in May of this year. He recently has gotten red mange, which is hereditary. Should I ask the breeder to pay for the meds and dips to clear it up? Or is it a buyer beware sort of situation?
Yes, I can prove that it is hereditary. My vet told me so. It is called demodectic mange, and it is passed from the mother to her pups. This is not contagious. It is not something that a dog can catch from anywhere else.
I really want to work with dogs and become a dog trainer. I just love working with them. Problem is, i dont have my own dog 
My dad is convinced we dont need one… How could i go about diving deeper into dog training? Like hands on, not reading off of a website or book.
Also what would be a good, intelligent breed to get when i am allowed to get a dog? I would say pitbull right away… But my dad says no to those >.<
