Chihuahua?

What do you think of them? Are they the cutest little thing? Are they mean or nice or both? Im adopting one in a few months,give me all the info you know?

I own a chihuahua and he is the best.Their temperment really depends on you. When mine was young, we handed him to anyone who wanted topet him. That way he gets used to people. He barks when people come in the house but that is natural. Make sure to discipline them. Most of the time all it takes is a firm voice.
I have a Chi that is so sweet. Generally Chihuahuas like their owners and other Chihuahuas. They often do not like other people or animals. It is important to socialize them well. You don’t say how old your Chi is but they should be around other animals and people at a young age. Also stop him/her from nipping early as they can become bitters. I rescued my Chi. She came me so spoiled and I love it! She curls up in my arms and buries her head to nap. Her only problem is with food – she overeats if I let her. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do.
As with any dog regardless of breed you have to have patience & be consistant with training. I have four chi’s and they are all sweet, not barky or nippy. I socialized all of them & trained them so they behave. Any dog can get out of control no matter the size or breed. Any full grown dog that is rescued or surrendered can have a history & have bad habits that have been taught to them. Work with your new chi & you will have an enjoyable pet that will bring you lots of joy.
Please do not let others who put down a Chihuahua, deter you from finding a little one to love. I feel sorry for those who have never had a Chihuahua in their life. I raise Chihuahuas and they are the most loving dog in the world. They will be your best friend, your protector, your constant companion. Any dog can be mean, but if they are raised right, they can and will be sweet and as loveable and loving as they come. They do require lots of love and attention. As some said, they do bark a lot but so do a lot of other breeds. Buy a chi and you will not regret it.

It depends on their history with humans whether or not they are mean or nice. They are REALLY hyper. For the best I would get it fixed so it won’t go around humping things.
I love Chihuahuas! Yes they are the cutest thing ever. Some have a bad reputation but I think part of that is how they are raised. My Chi is super sweet and she doesn’t bark or get real hyper like people would think. She is 9 months old and weighs 3.5 pounds so she is easy to take everywhere with me. Plus she is so adorable when she dresses up (which is all the time) And she likes to have clothes on because it helps keep her warm. You can tell so much about a Chi by their eyes and ears. All I have to do is look Milan in the eyes to know how she’s feeling. Or see what position those cute little ears are in. =) I had no idea being owned by a Chi would be so life changing but it is. I got her not knowing a lot about the breed, just the basics and I have learned so much since then and am just fascinated and enthralled with her and her kind. I can’t wait to get her a playmate some day soon. I’m just having a hard time finding another that is as pretty and small as she is! =)The advise I can give you is make sure you have plenty of time for your new pup. They are very demanding of your time. Not just the care of the pup but the attention. I’ve got Milan giving me the saddest face right now because I’m not picking her up. They love to be cuddled and burrowed away in blankets and clothes. Good luck with your Chi, I know you will be happy with your decision.
Most times you can make any bred of dog a good one,lots of tlc and love.
It’s great that you’re going to adopt a trendy little inbred dog rather than help one at a shelter right now. I think Chihuahuas are great. You should get a gun and shoot one.
ok sry but they bark like crazyyyy they will keep you uppp they are always hiper and are insane…… but they are adorable and sweet too because they are sooo smallllll!!!!!
In all honesty, I have yet to met a sweet and nice Chihuahua! I have an Mastiff and he’s a perfect dog, most people just want the little dogs because they can stick then in their purse. Everyone I have met in my neighborhood has either tried too, or has successfully biten my dog. He has done nothing but want to play with them, they have very dominate personalities. Good luck.
They are cute little things, but they may have some personality issues. My grandmother had one when I was young, and he made visits to her house well worth it. But when she got a second dog, the chihuahua got so jealous, he hid under the furniture and growled when I went near him.
These little dogs might also have "napoleon complex" being more aggressive than they should, trying to prove how tough they are. But, they are great cuddlers.
How can anyone like those creepy little things. they look like giant hairless RATS. serious, chihuahuas are probably rats that could bark.
It’s not that they are really mean, they are just very protective of their owner. I loved mine (he’s passed now), but it didn’t really love everyone I had coming to my house. So I would just put him in the bedroom till company left.
I would check around and rescue an unwanted one before encouraging a breeder to breed even more dogs that will end up abandoned and rejected.
i thibnk that they are adorable! i LOVE THEM!! i have had plenty! they are soo sweet. well there temperment and how they are taught depends if they are nice or not. i LOVE them i hope that u do to ! well good luck i hope that i helped!
chichuas are cute they are nice dogs they can bark really loud sometimes
I have a chi and he is the best thing that ever happened to me!! I used to go visit my mother in law and it seemed he wanted to be with me all the time, and she decideed he would be better with me i would have more time for him !! I was extrememly happy!! He is quite the companion i consider him my best friend even though i have lots of friends. My husband is jealous sometimes but he loves him tooo because my chi sleeps in the bed sometimes in between our legs lol
But he did cost us a fortune one year because he had a compulsive ceasure attack that he almost died had to be hospitalized cost us over 1,000 in one week!! Now he is on medication. This is why a lot of people don’t own chihuahua’s. It can get expensive even though they don’t eat much my chihas to be on a special diet for his anal glands. It was actually cheaper to get him on the diet than him suffering and have to have surgery again on them. I would do it all over again if i could because i love him so much!!! Not all chihuahua’s are expensive but from what i hear it seems a lot of them are in the long run so please consider that and be prepared before you get one, they love a steady home and i know my chi would die if i ever gave him up!!
