How many times a day should a Chinese crested maltese mixed dog eat a day?
I have a Chinese crested mixed with a Maltese. She is about a year and a half and is fed one scoopful of food a day. Some think she isn’t fed enough, but aren’t these breeds supposed to look thin? We adopted her and that is how she has been fed her whole life.0"

I feed all dogs twice a day. Puppies are fed according to their age and at 4 months they go onto two meals a day.
I only feed my Maltese once a day and they are fine with it. You know your dog best. A good indication of a healthy weight is to run your hands down the dog’s rib cage. If you can feel the ribs but there is a thin layer of fat over them and the ribs are not protruding then your dog should be a healthy weight.
If the current way you feed her works out best for you and your dog then there is no need to change anything becuase of what other people say.
Hello
I would have a look at the ingredients of your dog food and make sure it is not full of fillers.
I will put a link below for you to a website called dog-food-aid that is really good and has a section on ingredients that you could use as comparison.
I used to feed once a day but my vet suggested it is better to feed twice a day and that is what I now do – dogs seem to be happier with two feeds.
Good Luck
