I recently started a pet sitting/dog walking business. I went down to our local register today to get my state business license and found out that the name I was going to use (Creature Comforts) was already being used in the state. Any ideas on something creative and clever, without being overly cutsey?

I have a Pet Sitting/Dog Walking Business in Middletown, OH called Bark Fitness. I am having trouble finding pet owners in the Middletown area. I have had a lot of success getting clients outside of Middletown, but I would really like to build my business closer to home. Any suggestions? Where do Pet Owners hang? Best way to advertise?

I want to start a dog walking/pet sitting "business", just something that will earn me small change and won’t take too much of my free time. I was wondering how much I should charge (for both walking and pet sitting per hour/day), and your experiences with this if you’ve ever done it before. I have come across a few questions on here about dog walking service questions. Even though I always mention that I walk my dog each mornings and evenings and I use the service to give my dog a mid-day break…….I am bombarded with thumbs down.

So, what is it? am I missing something?
