Housebreaking a lab with another dog in the house that uses a litterbox?

We currently have a chihuahua that uses a litterbox. We are getting a lab…during the housebreaking period I should keep him away from the litterbox I’m thinking…but I was wondering…after he is housebroken, will I be able to have him around the litterbox without any problems?

Well love…probably not. Dogs have a problem with "cleaning up" whether it is from your dog or from cats. Maybe if you got one of those that electronically scrapes itself clean and puts the deposits in a closed plastic container that would help - they are motion activated. I believe you can get those at Walmart for about $100 - some at Pet Co. are even cheaper…don’t ask me why.

This made me smile. I can just see a Labrador using a litter box to potty and this may very well happen.
