How can I get my dog in his crate?
Every night when I try and get my dog into his crate he freaks out and starts snarling and biting at whoever is trying to get him in. We cant leave him out because he will tear everything apart. How can I possibly get him in?
He is a rescue dog. We have tried everything. We get treats and leave a trail into the crate. He will not get anywhere near it, not even with the treats. We have fed him inside of it, we praise him and love him and pet him but as soon as we try to get him in he flips. Help!

Put some chicken in to a little bowl, or one of his favorite little treats put some blankets in there to make it more comfortable and he may get used to it
well it takes some time to get a dog use to a crate to start with and if you use the crate as a punishment when he is bad, it could be a reason he doesn’t like to go into it. try making it comfy with some bedding or a favorite blanket or towel he likes. put some of his favorite toys in with him and then get some treats. tell him to get in the crate, hold a treat inside the crate and let him go in to get it. do this several times until he feels comfortable going into the crate. from what you stated, it sounds like he had a bad experience inside the crate and you may have to get him use to it all over again. put him and the crate in a room that you can close off, like a small bathroom or laundry room until he’s use to being in the crate and going into it without any hassel. that way he will be confined in a small area and he shouldn’t destroy too much. forcing a dog into a crate is defeating the purpose of using a crate.
If you trick him in his crate with a snack. then after he gets in his crate and calms down a tad then give him the treat. And praise him.
1. Stop trying to force him.
2. Start feeding him in his crate (with the door open).
3. At bedtime toss a cookie into the back of the crate; when he’s safely inside, shut the door.
