Where can i find a chihuahua puppy for sale in the pittsburgh pa area?

I have looked in the local newspaper with no luck. I have a year old Spayed female chihuahua and she is wonderful and I want another. Please heip me find one in Pittsburgh PA. I donot like to drive far. Thank You .

Whatever you do, DO NOT get them from a pet store!! They get their dogs from Puppymills and it’s just horrible. They get sick and have behavioral issues from improper socialization and being taken from their mothers too soon. They can be harder to potty-train because they’ve always been allowed to go anywhere they want. The conditions in a puppymill are disgusting. Our dog is a puppymill rescue. She was only in one for a year and we’ve had her for 3 years. It was just this last year that she’s gained the confidence to play with another dog and to enjoy being petted.

Look at the sites below for a more humane and local Chihuahua "buying" solution…
there really ugly dogs, but if you reall ywant one, u can check out the pounds or call the pet stores and see if they have any

they list pets by location, gender, age temperment..
also look in local newspapers for listings
there are even websites for specialty breeders worldwide that will ship the puppy to you but those dogs generally cost a lot more.

Make sure it’s not a puppy mill

I had great luck finding my pug puppy on http://www.puppyfind.com. You can do a breed search as well as a state search. Good luck!

Another great website to put a listing on is pittsburgh.craigslist.org
They have great resources and are free listings - its an amazing community website…
Look for local animal shelters that specialize in chihuahuas. They will know the most about them and be able to pick out one that fits your needs.
Please do not go to a petstore to buy a dog. Pet stores are the worst place to go. Call or go to a local shelter, they will be able to help you find a great chihuahua for you.
Plus you will be saving the life of a dog that otherwise would go unloved!

You can go to your local pet store, like pet supplies plus, or petsmart, or ask one of the workers there, they may have a book with that info in it. they usually have an add board on the wall, next to the entrance area, hope i have been of help.
if you go to liveaction.com they have dogs on there and they send them by plane to you
Look up American Kennel Club or Continental Kennel Club on the internet. They list breeders that are in your area all you have to do is type in your zip code.
animal rescue legue or a breeder
Search the internet a lot of the times breeders will fly the puppy to you. I live in Alabama and I found my dog in Oklahoma. I had her flown in with no problems.
Try an online search for Chihuahua rescue organizations, check the local Human Societies, and maybe just an online search for puppies for sale
