well looks like you have the american labrador retriever...i was wondering the same thing about if my dog has adhd ...she has a really short attentionspan and does most of the same things as your dog ,but she is also really smart.....she is also a clutz... ...the cold water thing isn't human though it's because your dog is being a wimp...mine won't get out of her kennal on too hot or cold days we end up having to drag her out or when she does willingly go out she stands by the door because she wants to come int and sleep on her bed ( shes mostly an outside dog)..i suppose it is because they have grown up with people for most of their life....the cute thing ...is a parent thing but i personally think my dogs are cute.. and thats not just by their looks its by their actions too...i also think the lab marley from the book marley and me is cute too....here's a pic of my lab and jack russell http://freetobeme11.blogspot.com ....i agree your lab is way cute yours has more of a naughty sweet look to him and mine has more of a happy blonde look to her so its hard to tell which one is cuter yours is also still basically a pup and mine is 5 so that makes it difficult too...but i do agree your dog is really cute

It must be a lab thing because my chocolate lab does it to. Also when he sits down, he sits with his paws foward and his belly pokes out. Its the funniest thing. But the weirdest thing about him, he don't like to go the bathroon when the grass is wet. But he loves to go swimming, but he will not walk on wet grass. He don't like to get his paws wet or something. But I think it is a lab thing, that must be why people love them so much, their personality.

Youve done an excellent job of describing the personality of a labrador retreiver. Sorry, but he's no more special than all dogs.

There are only two things about him that sound abnormal.

One, his owner seems very proud of him and seems to giving him adequate mental stimulation.

Two, he's overweight. Labs should have a max weight around 80 lbs, not 100.

But the ADD thing is normal for labs, most well adjusted dogs (not fearful and all) will sleep on their backs, and it is normal for dogs to dislike being covered cold water.

My yellow Lab is the same way, and if dogs could have ADHD then mine would have it to. He has a very short attention span. But he is well trained. He acts lust like a human, I really think it is the Lab breed at times. But more than not mine is spoiled. He pouts like a child. If he is not the center of attention he will do anything to be. He knows how to manipulate people, and if he does get into trouble he will pout and try to fit his 116lbs under the bed. Actually one his head fits. He has his own spot on the bed, with his own pillow. He sleeps on his back with his head on the pillow. If for some reason he wants to sleep on the floor he takes his pillow and blanket. My Lab is very intuned to my feelings and acts accordingly, he also knows how to cheer people up by acting like a clown. Labs are just great dogs and very smart. Everyone thinks their dog is the cutest, all dogs are cute, mine is very adorable. He is a 116 lbs snuggly bear.
