Why Is My Dog Biting the air?

My dog has been doing this almost all his life. He bites at the air, not constantly, but a lot. I’ve read it could be mini siezers, or him just being bored. He is a 6 year old jack russle/cardigan corgi mix.
He also licks his front paws when he’s laying down, and naws at the comforter or whatever fabric he’s sitting on. It could just be chasing fleas.

idk but it is normal my dogs and puppies do it to
my westie does this i think it could be a mini fly or something thats irratiing him like dust wool irrates mine esspecially. i would always get it checked by a vet !x hes a terrier too maybe its a terrier thing
Its probably not a seizure, but a compulsive disorder.
Humans and animals can get this, and its not the easiest to cure.
I would recommend taking hm too the vet
he is not bitting the air maybe you are too hot for him and he wants to eat you up .. lol ..
actually it is common in small dogs it is a mild form of OCD
i am serious
it is very common in caviler king Charles spaniels
they call it fly biting
my dog bites at the air when something flies past her or she see’s a bird or something lolz
=]
If it’s a seizure he would be nonresponsive, drooling, may lose control of his bowels/bladder - check for any of those things and if they occure give the vet a call, there’s a medication they can take. Other than that it’s probably just a behavioural thing or he’s irritated by something.
Our Parsons Terrier licks the air - I think it’s possibly his way of tasting things that he can smell.
Aha. I’m pretty sure all dogs do it. My 3 Labs do, as did my 2 Labs who have passed on. I think they see something in the air and it gets on their nerves. =] However, if you’re really worried, call and ask your vet.
